s initiative follows a
recent $600 million investment by the telecom operator to
double its existing data center capacity.
According to Ashish Arora, CEO of Nxtra by Airtel, the Hyderabad facility is expected to be ready in two years, with plans to reach full capacity within five years.
As part of its push toward intelligent operations, Nxtra also announced the deployment of Ecolibrium’s AI-powered SmartSense platform across its core data centers. This platform has already been implemented at its Chennai facility, leveraging real-time performance analytics to detect early signs of deterioration and recommend corrective actions.
The SmartSense solution is designed to:
- Reduce non-IT power consumption by 10%
- Improve productivity across data center operations by 25%
Speaking on the partnership, Arora stated:
“The partnership with Ecolibrium and the integration of AI into the core of our data centers is a crucial step in this direction with which we will advance our energy efficiency and overall performance.”
Nxtra is currently one of India’s leading data center providers, operating 12 large-scale facilities and 120 Edge data centers or Points of Presence across the country. In addition to Hyderabad, the company is actively developing new data centers in Noida, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru.
