ndergo a major upgrade, with its capacity set to
triple to 150 MW through the addition of
three new buildings. The first phase of this
100 MW expansion is projected to be
completed by 2026. Once fully developed, the
MU1 campus will cover 15 acres.
In a parallel development, PDG is set to establish its presence in Chennai, a fast-emerging cloud infrastructure hub in India, with a new AI-ready campus CH1. Located in the northern Chennai Metropolitan Area, CH1 will provide 72 MW of capacity on a 9.3-acre site, with additional space available for future expansion. This new facility is specifically designed to serve hyperscale customers, offering support for high-density workloads and flexible cooling solutions critical for AI-centric operations.
PDG’s decision to focus on Mumbai and Chennai reflects the strategic significance of these cities, thanks to their proximity to submarine cable landing stations, stable power infrastructure, and growing access to renewable energy. Sustainability remains central to PDG’s operations, with the MU1 campus already sourcing 50% of its power from renewable energy. The company is committed to further increasing its green energy usage across its portfolio.
The AI-ready data centres being built by PDG are equipped to meet the rising demand for high-performance computing. These facilities integrate advanced cooling technologies, including liquid cooling, to maintain operational efficiency under AI-driven workloads.
PDG’s larger growth strategy involves expanding its data centre footprint across key digital economies in Asia—notably India, Indonesia, and Malaysia—to cater to the surging need for cloud services and AI infrastructure.
